Group of Aragalaya activists to contest under ‘Balloon’ symbol

A group of activists of the ‘Aragalaya’ people’s movement is set to contest the Local Government elections under the ‘balloon’ symbol.

Speaking to reporters, activist Danesh Ali said that the aim of the group is to first secure power in Colombo and then change its system.

Secretary to the Sri Lanka Socialist Party, Mahinda Dewage told the media that the group had successfully placed a deposit for the election.

Stating that the party backs the group of activists and has placed a deposit to contest for the Colombo Municipal Council, he added that Colombo belongs to the Aragalaya.
